Visit Schedule

The visit schedule is one of the most visible parts of a SliceVault repository because it shapes the repository itself. It affects which visit columns users see, where they can upload, which visits move into QC or reading, and how easy the study timeline is to understand.

Example repository showing visit columns

Some studies use one visit column per protocol visit. Others split visits by modality, which can be especially helpful when different readers or workflows apply to different types of imaging. It is often also worth deciding early whether you need unscheduled visits, repeat visits, or other special visit types.

Visit structure also affects upload. Users need to select the correct visit before uploading data.

Selecting a visit during upload

Some projects also use extra visit filters during upload. In more complex repositories, users may first choose a visit type such as protocol or unscheduled, then choose a modality such as ECHO or CT. SliceVault can then filter the available visits so users only see the options that apply to that combination. This is mainly useful in studies with a more complex visit structure or different workflows by modality. In simpler studies, it is usually not needed.
