Images and Labelling
The most important thing we need to know is which image modalities your study collects, and how those images should be labeled in SliceVault.
In SliceVault, we work with both modality and image type. The modality usually comes from the image data itself, for example MR, CT, US, or NM. The image type is the SliceVault label used to identify what that image represents. For MRI, one modality may contain several different image types such as T1w, T2w, DTI, NM-MT, or rs-fMRI. Having these labels makes it much easier for sites, QC, and readers to identify missing data and review the correct images.
Labels are also useful outside MRI. For ultrasound, the label may describe what was collected rather than the technical modality alone, for example Left ankle, Right ankle, Left knee, or Right knee. For echocardiography, labels such as TTE and TEE can be equally important. In other words, the label is often what makes the uploaded data meaningful in the day-to-day workflow.
During import, investigator sites need to choose the correct label for each uploaded series.

Those same labels then help organize the uploaded data on the visit dashboard and throughout review.

What We Need From You
Please tell us which modalities are included in the study, and which SliceVault image types users should be able to choose for each modality. If labels need to distinguish anatomy, side, acquisition type, sequence, or technique, please tell us that clearly.
