Need Segmentation Tools?
Access note: This feature is only visible when the relevant add-on has been enabled for the study and assigned to your user account. If you cannot see it, contact your Trial Administrator or main study contact. Trial Administrators can review add-on access in Edit User Access.
Use Image Quantification when the study requires manual segmentation, labeled annotations, or quantitative image analysis in the viewer.

What Problem It Solves
This feature adds segmentation tools to the viewer so users can outline regions of interest, apply labels, and upload segmentation results.
How to Open It
From the Visit Dashboard, click Analyze to open the viewer with the segmentation toolbar enabled.
How It Works
Example – Manual Segmentation of CT Stack
The usual workflow is:
- Select a segmentation label.
- Draw or refine the segmentation with the available tools.
- Upload the segmentation to SliceVault.
Helpful Shortcuts
Viewing
- X toggles segmentation opacity
- ALT + scroll wheel adjusts segmentation opacity
- L shows or hides all labels
- Tab + mouse hover shows the label name
Drawing
- E + left mouse draws with the pencil
- E + right mouse erases with the pencil
- G + left mouse uses bucket fill
- Ctrl + R + left mouse uses the polygon tool
- Ctrl + Z undoes the last step
- Ctrl + Y redoes the last undone step
Advanced Controls
- Y + scroll wheel sets the high HU threshold
- H + scroll wheel sets the low HU threshold
- I removes marked pixels outside the largest connected region
- D fills holes in the current label
- Ctrl + Alt + S uploads the segmentation to the server
